Overview of The Byron at Byron as an Employer

The Byron at Byron Resort and Spa is located five minutes drive south of the township of Byron Bay in Suffolk Park. The Resort opened on 23 December 2004 and operates as a full integrated resort and spa with 92 suites, including 60 one bedroom superior suites and 32 one bedroom spa suites. Selfrated as five star, the resort aims to be an industry leader in both the Byron Bay region and Australia as a whole.

Located on 45 acres of rainforest, environmental initiatives form a key part of the resort operations. The resort occupies less than 10% of the property and the remainder of the site has been carefully regenerated and maintained to restore the native flora, fauna and waterways of this unique natural environment.

Service is a key part of the resort offering, with all guests treated as VIPs and welcomed on arrival. Staff are renowned for their friendly and helpful demeanour and overall positive attitudes.

Byron Bay is a holiday destination and beautiful place to live. Whether staff choose to base themselves on the coast in Byron Bay or one of the nearby coastal or hinterland villages, life has a slower pace here and provides the opportunity to enjoy the subtropical climate. While this can mean a culture shock for those moving from a more hectic city lifestyle, those prepared for a change of pace tend to enjoy the peaceful and laid back vibe. Some elements of city life are still available, for example great coffee and dining, while others such as large shopping centres and nightlife can be accessed in the cities of Brisbane or the Gold Coast, located 1-2 hours drive to the north. The area also boasts a strong cultural calendar, with festivals and events scheduled throughout the year. Visit the events section of the website for more information.

The Byron at Byron Resort and Spa offers employees competitive remuneration packages, discounts at various local retail and restaurant locations and discounted staff and family room rates. Staff are treated with fairness and respect, regardless of position, and training and career advancement is encouraged or provided where possible. There are currently approximately 50 full time employees and 50 casual employees at the resort.
