Access to Byron Bay by air from Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide has been made easier with an increase in direct fights to Coolangatta/Gold Coast airport. Air New Zealand have direct flights from Auckland to Coolangatta along with Virgin Blue commencing direct flights from Canberra. Since the upgrade to the Pacific Highway, transfer from Coolangatta to Byron Bay is now an easy 45 minutes.

Many international flights now also arrive into Brisbane airport with regular transfers available from the airport to Byron Bay via shuttle bus, coach, private car rental or luxury transfer.

Alternatively fly to Ballina/Byron Airport from Sydney on Virgin, Jetstar or Rex Air (flights daily) or Melbourne on Jetstar (flights 3x weekly). The Byron at Byron Resort and Spa is approximately 25 minutes north of Ballina/Byron Airport. Rental cars are available at both Gold Coast and Ballina Airports.
